So i downloaded it last night and had no problems with almost all settings on high. today i played for an hour until it randomly stopped responding and when i went to the main menu i had EXTREME frame rate lag. my specs are.
    processor: intel(R) core(TM) i7-3610QM cpu @ 2.30GHz
    RAM: 16GB
    system type: 64 bit
    and i have a nvidia GTX 670
so i should not have these problems.
    pleeeaseee helppp

Have you tried disabling Physx? I've heard that it is a bit buggy and can cause severe fps drops caused by all the particles it adds.

Physx isnt the issue I have the 500 series of his card and run it at a minimum of 45 fps with physx on high... If anything it's because of how new the 600 series cards are. The next driver update will likely fix the issue

edit: A video card overheating can also cause it to crash resulting in your fps to lower dramatically until the game or in some cases the whole pc is restarted.

I'm trying to help him troubleshoot and the most common cause of low fps is Physx. Please don't come on here and imply I have no idea what I am talking about when I am trying to help somebody play a game they can't get to work.

Anyways once you try disabling Physx, verify the integrity of your game cache and then restart steam.

I too have this problem. In fact, it's the entire reason why I joined this forum... I've just posted about my issue in the introductions thread.

Similar spec'd system, i7-2600k, 12gb RAM, Geforce 670 OC edition - physx slows to a crawl, swap out my 570 OC edition and physx flies.

    :/
