How many of you every own the original Xbox, PS1, gamecube or N64 and still own it to this very day. I still have my gamecube and PS2 with good games on both of them. Though I sold my PS1 and N64 a long while ago.

I don't to be honest. My cousin does because he thinks some day they can be really priced. And he wishes to sell them. And he thinks the vintage stuff does get sold to higher cost. So he has them in storage as of now. It looks like a good stuff.

Nope. Both my PS1 and PS2 bit the dust a long time ago. Thankfully emulation is an option.

Well, I have to say your cousin does have a good strategy. I have seen people spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on a single old pokemon card.

Those are clearly people with more money than brains.
But I agree that it's a good strategy. I think it will be hard to find working PS1 era consoles in 10 - 20 years, so assuming he is willing to wait that much, he could potentially get some pretty nice money for whatever he has.

True, sort of makes me wish I didn't give away my N64 or PS1 so soon or easily. When I was around 14 I gave my N64 away for $15 with pokemon stadium along with it.

15 $ ? Man you gave that thing away for free. I'd sooner keep it than sell it for that kind of money.

Yeah, I was a lot more absent-minded back then and didn't really know how valuable it was until now. I also gave it to a kid who was around 6 years old...so yeah not the greatest decision.

I do keep the classic consoles at my home. They remind me of my childhood even if I don't play it anymore because I'm an adult now. However, I do think that the old consoles will be handy in the future if you sell them.

I think classic consoles are worth keeping. Because on ebay many people are into collectibles. And they can get the price on the right time. And you can see that it may surely bring more conversion in such case. I'd say if you are serious on that front then keep it for sure.

I am among the many people who put most of their nose in PC hence I don't keep any classic console.

I just looked up Playstation1 prices on ebay and surprisingly they are still fairly cheap. I guess since so many of them were made, many are still working. Not worth selling them yet.

Yeah. Exactly. I'm just being practical and also because I know the worth of old things.

If it's functional the people who want to buy it on ebay are more. And they are also going to pay for the same. Lot of people keep it as a vintage item. So it's something worth having around.

I will always prefer the classical consoles as they are more functional

This just always makes me think twice about getting rid of anything like that, where you never know what is going to turn out to be valuable. The question is whether you can hold on to it for that long without losing it, or at least that is the issue for me.

I think keeping the console is not a bad move. It can have vintage value if it gets old. And can be sold on the ebay. So classic consoles are definitely worth keeping as well.
