I'm pretty sure Borderlands 3 is going to drop in either 2018 or 2019 and if you have a Ps4, Xbox One or Pc, then you are going to be one of the first gamers to actually try it.

Yes, I heard that around Oct. 2018 they will be releasing the latest version of the game.

I guess they are up to something. Something big will come soon. I think they are preparing for the release of the game.

There is no real indication that the game is in a remotely playable state so I wouldn't hold my breath. Although, they could decide to just drop a press release on a random day to surprise us Borderlands fans. The media attention from such a move would benefit the franchise greatly and would encourage new players to try Borderlands.

It's a shame we got nothing about Borderlands 3 on E3. I was almost certain we would be getting something, but I guess not. This might unfortunately be a sign of development issues.

I said the same thing in another thread. Why would the developers at Gearbox not use the popular E3 convention to really entice both current Borderlands fans and potential ones. They could have easily drummed up more attention for Borderlands 3 but they let the opportunity slip.

Well, the game is likely at least a year away from being released. The only question is why. They've been working on it for quite a while already.
Well, I sure hope we'll get something next year.

Yeah, we need a Borderlands 3 or maybe they will call it something else, they say - so it's been about 5 years since Borderlands 2 came out. No release date in sight, as far as Borderlands 3 goes, and they say it hasn't even been confirmed, as far as being in development .

The game has definitely been confirmed to be in development. Not like Gearbox has any other major titles they could be working on anyway.

It has been confirmed actually they just haven't shown any footage of the gameplay and we haven't received any real updates since the announcement. Gearbox does, in fact, have another title in production but I can't remember its name but if I'm not mistaken, It was shown at last year's E3 convention.

They were working on a new Duke Nukem game and some sort of MOBA but both games were released in 2016. I don't remember them announcing anything last year.

In some ways I kind of like it but then again I would rather just have myself spoiled and get hyped up like always. I am not sure the reason here but I do expect something relatively soon.

The problem is it's been years since the last Borderlands title so we are long overdue for an upgrade. One of the easiest ways for a game franchise to lose its fanbase is taking too long to release an update because in that time a competitor may come along. Create a similar type of game to Borderlands without the issues that Borderlands has and add a few unique features and just like that the Borderlands fanbase is gone.
