If you are tight on a budget then PC seems to be a good option. And in some cases the console if you have enough money. But mostly PC can take care of things.
This topic is never ending. Lot of people compare playing on console or in pc. Both ways have different advantages depending on your needs. For me, playing on both have its own beneficial.
I think PC can be one good option if you have long term plans for the same. So on that note I prefer the PC for my gaming.

I think at the end of the day the debate is leaning more towards the PC. And consoles are on their way out.
