News broke earlier on the Gearbox Forums: I'll update this thread when more information becomes available.
Yeah it's a Crystalisk. Nobody can agree where it is in-game and how it can be triggered. What is known is there is no loot pool specifically for Crystaloferous, which suggest killing it spawns a special chest or something of the sort.
Any idea's what its going to be like facing him? It he tougher than vermivorous (that might be over the top) Will he have more health, will his attacks be stronger and more varied. I think he might be a bit like crawmerax from borderlands 1, since crystalisk's can only be defeated with critical hits. Any idea's on what he looks like too?
Almost nothing is known right now, some are saying he might not even be spawnable until a future update or DLC is released. There's almost a witch hunt going on right now of people trying to find clues and trying to get him to spawn. I'll let you know as soon as I find out more information.
Ok FearTheKick, i might start looking around for any clues. I assume Crystaloferous is probably gonna be in some place where there are crystalisks. I can only think of caustic caverns off the top of my head. Maybe there are some clues near the big blue crystalisk who i think is called blue (creative name)
Im not level 50 yet so I cant really help finding the boss but I had an idea. There are crystalisk at the warrior, I noticed that the warrior sometimes grabs/eats a rakk when he comes out of the lava, maybe if we can get him to eat a crystalisk it will come out epic imba after you kill the warrior? they are lava things aswell so it would make sort of sense for it not to die inside the lava beast... well If anyone could try it
not really, he drops to ground level lots of times, but it was just an idea i have no clue if its possible. Anyway, i also noticed the crystalisk dont spawn at all if you run to one of the little islands in the lava. Will check in normal mode if i can get anything to happen
There's a reference to "Crystaloferus the Invincible" in game files, but no model, no texture, no map, nada. Looks like it might be future DLC. And no, it's not an older Blue, because Blue has a separate entry. Source - http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/638784-borderlands-2/64201979
