I have a few free copies of DOTA 2 that I got from Steam today. Is anybody interested in one? This is a game that is only available through Steam.

Edit: Active members of the forum will take priority if I don't have enough copies for everybody that wants one.

Sacrid, if you have any spares after you have given them out to forum members, another friend of mine would like a copy.

I still have 2 left. If nobody else wants them by the end of the day I'll send your friend one tomorrow.

    His steam username is Sniping_Snake14

Alternatively, you could send me another copy which i'll then send to him.

Steam sends out free copies to people who own the game every once in a while.

Don't have any copies left but you can get them for 2 cents from the steam marketplace. http://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/753/Dota 2

It's a RTS game where 2 teams of 5 pick heroes and have to destroy the other team's 'ancient' while protecting your own.

It's extremely similar to league of legends, if not pretty much the same thing. However, many people prefer LoL to Dota 2.

I personally don't like DOTA 2 as i'm not a big fan of real time stragety, i prefer the XCOM style of stragety where teams take turns moving units.

I know you are a pc guy now but I'm wanting to get xcom but I'm not sure if I wanna get it for console or pc...anyway you can define benefits for pc vs console?

I can't imagine what playing xcom on a console would be like so i can't compare advanatges of that to PC but i can talk about why i'd BELIEVE xcom would be better on PC.

The main reason why is because when using a mouse, you get exact precision on which tile you would like your characetr to move to or which enemy to attack. I'd imagine with the analog stick, getting on the exact tile you want would be fiddly and will almost definately take longer than using a mouse.
Also, xcom is one of those games where you only need the mouse. Since the mouse is visible on screen while playing, you can select certain moves without using the keyboard since you could just click on them, unlike on a controller. You could use the keyboard but i find it a lot easier to just do everything with a mouse.
Finally, on PC, it'll be better looking, cheaper since you don't need to pay for a disk and have access to console commands if you just feel like messing about with the world.

So yeah, i'd say for a turn based stragety game like XCOM, go PC.
