To both Borderlands 1/2 and this forum... but my son and I have been trying to farm some legendary weapons and have defeated the bosses who supposedly drop them at least 20 times to no avail... I have one question. Are legendary weapons NOT available until you finish all missions in Vaulthunter Mode and play what is described as "2.5" mode???
legendary items can be dropped at any time. it does not matter how far you are or what you have done. Now level 50 legendary items can only be dropped in 2.5 mode and you have to complete all story line missions in true vault hunter mode to get to 2.5 mode. Also 2.5 mode is where all enemies jump up to level 50, it does not reset the quests. It takes more than 20 kills to see a legendary depending on your luck. I have just over 700 terra kills and I have yet to see anything but class mods.
In my second go round, I received a legendary sniper rifle from the badass in the minecraft side mission. I have been watching those videos where they farm leg wepons from bosses and they never state they are in 2.5. You have answered my question. Now if I can just defeat the last round of the Ore Chasm onslaught....
I hear you on that. Terra hasn't dropped much for me either. Mods and a Hide shield. I farmed Madame/Mad Dog for 2 weeks and got ONE Baby Maker to drop....and it was a level 49...But Hunter dropped me 4 Bee shields....crazy luck variables
Me and the RNG don't get along. I had to spend hours reforging my mage on WoW to limit the effect the RNG has on a fire mage, which by default is a lot.
Great answer... I finished ALL levels except terramorphous in True Vault hunter mode and was dis-appointed not having the game reset for a more difficult 3rd go around. I did however get the DLC and was pissed that the morons at Gamestop told me the Season Pass included the Mechromancer only to find gearbox put that in for free only for people who pre-ordered it. Otherwise I woulda saved $10 and waited to spring for the final DLC scenario.... P.S. PS3 handle is frontstmaui if anyone wants to help me take on the terramorph and complete the missions.. My son and I have died over 50 times in 20 attempts and haven't gotten past 1/2 the damage. WTF is the deal with the youtube videos of people killing it in 9 seconds or a minute and a half with what appear to be normal weapons???
They use equipment known as the conference call shotgun and the bee shield. These legendary items drop from the warrior (the CC) and hunter hellquist (the bee). With this combo, you can take down terra before he attacks once.
but of course if you dont have these items it makes it much more harder and challenging...very good tools for farming though.
FFS I didn't know I needed to be in 2.5 for lv 50 Legendaries...To my credit I did get a lv 50 Legendary Hunter assassin class mod as an item of the day. Explains why a lv 50 Bee hasn't dropped though! :unsure:
Some of my favorite gaming memories were playing my fire mage in wow, but I decided to leave that game behind last year. Few months later I got Borderlands 1, GOTY edition.
best move imo...not really big on WoW...can't knock it for its success just not my bottle of beer..diablo 3 however now thats an awesome game
I am on my first playthrough with a siren and am currently lvl 16. At lvl 4 boom-bewm dropped a legendary grenade and then a while later doc mercy dropped an infinity pistol.
damn thats hella good my friend. people farm doc mercy at least 20-100 times and could never get one infinity pistol. gotta play with you myself too, possibly a lucky monkey lol edit: oops i meant monk lol!
Lol. I think it is just my siren that is lucky. Ive killed mercy probably 400x with my commando and only recieved the rapid infinity at about 300 kills. I had to beg on here to get the fire infinity.
wtg! yeah ive just about dried up on legendaries with my main character. Ive got mostly purple (i.e. etech smgs, shotguns) and quite a few blue which do a decent enough damage but I focus so much on slag weapons and since that character is always played with my wife she uses elementals while i slag them down so its pretty much a win win. @moosemeat hey man you weren't kidding about needing to slag enemies down before taking them out. i'm having so much fun getting killed left and right in opportunity, the enemies are about two levels above me right now lol
That's what I love about the endgame and 2.5! I've been using a slag splatgun on hordes and just mowing them down with hip fired Hyperion smgs. That's where the Bitch SMG comes in handy....I Bitch slap them....
