So I got a lvl 11 Baby Maker today--And to test it out, I put it on my lvl 12 Mechromancer, and went to Scorch, who is a reasonably tough boss at this point in the game. (He's lvl 10). .

So I shoot one bullet, throw the gun, and when it connects, it deals like 2,000 damage, and Scorch dies. This is level 11, where Snipers do like, 100 damage. So I tried it again, to see if it wasn't just a glitch, and this time it took two, but it still did 1,000 each one. 10x as much damage as an average Sniper.

How good is this beast at level 50? If I take the ratio, it's 20x stronger than an avg Sniper shot, so would that hit like... 200k-400k per throw? If so, I'm totally farming Mad Dog...

    So... How is it?

Suppose you have a baby maker with a clip of 40 and 20 damage per shot and the reload with no ammo remaining does 10. The total damage of the explosion with 39 shots would be 790 or close to that. Just take Remaining Ammo * Damage per Shot + Reload Damage to get a rough estimate on the damage it will do.

Christ, so say, if it did 6,000 damage, and had a magazine of 50, you're saying the reload would do something like 350k damage + Damage of Grenade?

Because that's pretty freakin' beastly. I could just shoot 1 shot/reload as fast as I could, and do massive damage... Nice.

I guess you haven't seen this video...or ones like it. Pre nerf patch it was pretty broken. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=sSLJK4NYpDo&desktop_uri=/watch?v=sSLJK4NYpDo

Pre nerf bee patch it was bee+tediore relic + baby maker, cause the bee amped all bullets in the clip.

It can drop from Madame Von Bartlsby in Tundra Express (the big Varkid) or Mad Dog in Lynchwood. Those have the highest drop rates.

I myself have never seen Mad Dog drop the Baby Maker but it's rumoured he does but I obtained the Baby Maker from Madame Von Bartlsby in Tundra Express (you can kill this creature after you've accepted the mission from Tiny Tina:
"You Are Cordially Invited: Party Prep
    Emancipate Sir Reginald"
I would recommend beating the game on True Vault Hunter Mode first so if the gun does drop you get the level 50 version if you want that.

You mean magazine. Clips do not have a spring loaded follower and are seldom used anymore in guns if at all. The M1 garand used a clip in WWII. Todays guns use Magazines.

I can confirm that Mad Dog drops the Baby Maker - I got 3 Baby Makers in a farming run of about 20 rounds.

This is Borderlands. For all we know they use a mix of clips and magazines. Regardless, it got the point across.

On every gun in the game it says Magazine size in the stats. Not clip size. Look at a video of a clip being used to load a internal magazine. No guns in this game are loaded in that fashion. The media with their anti gun propaganda uses the word clip to demonize the gun industry.

Uhhh...dunno bout that. I just think the word "clip" sounds cooler and kitchier than "mag" or "magazine" so it has a tendency to be preferred in our vernacular even if it is the incorrect nomenclature. Anyways, your point is interesting in shedding a little historical light on firearms and showcasing your knowledge of the subject, but other than that, who cares. Look at the guns in this video game we love called Borderlands 2; they look more like nerf and toy guns than real guns vs a game such as COD or any other game that is attempting realism in their aesthetics of the game. Clip/mag...potato, potato.

I'll say clip, cause I like saying clip. Saying mag sounds...meh.
