I don't know how many other people have noticed this, but there are practically no non-whites in either Borderlands or Borderlands 2. The only ones I can think of right now are Roland, Salvador, Captain Scarlett, and Motor Mama. None of the enemies are anything other than white. Are all the non-white races extinct in the future or something? It's not that I think of it as racist or anything, I just find it really odd that there are only a handful of non-whites in the game. You'd think that in this day and age, diversity would be mandatory.
I havent noticed it because it really doesnt matter to me. It could be all white or vice versa and it would not change my feelings about the game at all. Oh yeah dont forget about Sir Hammerlock. Lol
Marcus is Russian if you consider Russian a different race (i'm guessing you do since you counted scarlet). the sirens have natural "tattoos" all over there body so they aren't what i would call white. id say that is some healthy diversity in a game set in a alternate world and half of the NPC and enemies are either a robot or an animal
Marcus doesn't count, since Russians are a primarily white race, and neither do Lilith, Maya, or the albino chick from BL1, since they're just white people with natural tattoos. I don't really care that there's a lack of diversity in the game, I just find it odd is all.
I wouldn't even consider sirens completely human. Eridium has completely different effects on them than it does on anything else.
I've seen this come up in a few other games, like Call of Duty and Resident Evil 5, when they were in Africa and all the zombies were black.
Because Scarlet has dark skin like Roland. Marcus doesn't. Shush you. Sirens are like psychics or mutants. They're still human, they just have special powers. If a Siren weren't human, they wouldn't look human. Simple as that. The only reason I brought this up is because I find it so odd. Only explanation I can think of is that minorities are extinct in the future. The Klu Klux Klan and Hitler would be proud, lol.
Your absolutely right... There aren't enough white people in this game... I am going to tweet the developers and make sure they add more white...
Read the original post. I already mentioned Salvador, but forgot about Mordecai. However, there are literally no enemies that aren't white (except Motor Mama, and Cpt. Scarlett, who you never actually fight). It's just weird in this day and age. Not offensive, not upsetting, just weird.
