Comparing and contrasting your ability when you played and when you did not play video games. Do you think video games really increase ones intelligent or it makes one dull?
For some persons, they demonstrate the game even off screen and it makes them seems grossly crazy!

Every task that involves your mind or brain obviously increases your intelligence. It is better to play games and let your children play it. It would be easy for them to find the solution and gain their goal in the life but it is important to know that outdoor activities are good for your healthy body. A healthy body has a healthy mind.

Yes, depending on the games you play. For example, when you're playing strategy games you're developing your brain to think for the future as well as the present. You get much better at planning and being self-aware.

If you are playing a game that leaves a positive massege and you do the good things in it then it would leave a positive effect on your mind. Games are good to sharpen your mind. Everything that you do with mind or brain, it does increase you intelligence.

It really depends on the game itself and how your own mind works. If the game gives you some sort of memory test or gives historical lessons of some type during gameplay then perhaps. It is possible.

Thing is, games are so diverse these days, it really, really does depend on the game/genre were dealing with.
For example, I'm almost certain my problem-solving skills were improved by the Portal games, and maybe the FF Tactics games made me a better tactical strategist. On the other hand, I'd say Devil May Cry helped me improve my reflexes, if anything, but probably didn't boost my intellect in any relative, practically measurable sense.

I never really heard of a video game improving one's relaxes. Do you mean like dodging certain things or hand reflexes?

Real life and gaming and life in computer is different. You can see that life and the approach in gaming is lot different. And people have to understand that real intelligence requires we handling the situation both online and offline. That's how things change around.

Of course, playing games will increase your knowledge on certain things. But it depends on the game you're playing.

Any task where your brain is being used, it really increases your intelligence level. If you want to increase your intelligence then try to play strategy and static games. Puzzle and Tetris games are the best way to sharpen your mind. This is my personal experience.

I have been playing games since my childhood. I have noticed one thing that games are really different than any other task in the life. So if you pay attention to games then your intelligence would be brilliant only for the games. I would love to be the little bit of everything.

Well depends. If the games need some kind of thinking and puzzle solving it can. Also there was a study that proved that MMORPGs and RPGs made your memory better due to the remembering of all the quests and items, skills etc. you have.

I think some games are really good for that. And some of the games AI usually have it;s set of the flaws. And people don't much find value in them. I think it's not always true that games help with intelligence. Some games do work out. And not all of them.

No. Intelligence ( or lack of it ) is just something you are born with and can't really change. That's my opinion at least. There are puzzle games and such that can potentially make your brain work harder, which is a good thing, but that's about it.

I read an article online that claims certain types of video games can help to train the brain to become more agile and improve strategic thinking.

I think the answer to this question is yes. Gaming helps to sharpen the brain as you use the brain to move your player, escape enemies, etc.

I strongly agree. A person who engages himself in playing games is cleverer and more keen than that who never plays them at all.

Though, that is really dependent on the person themselves and who you are comparing them to.

I don't know if it increases intelligence, maybe it does make your brain more active. Because your brain is always busy figuring out thing when gaming, I guess this helps with brain activity.

In a controlled way i think so. Games are a good exercise for decision making and strategy, however if gaming become an addiction it may not be beneficial.
