One of the beauty of 21st century is video games: especially the updated ones with android features.
Personally I love playing game with lot of persons both online and offline. But I tend to prefer the online players as I tend to see it as global interaction in a fun pact manner. Which one do you prefer?

Honestly I think it depends on the game.
Competitive games usually are better played online: the AI will never match the excitement of racing/fighting/whatever against an human player. Also co-op games, expecially if you have some friends to play it with you. They can be extreme lots of fun.

But there are also many games amazing in single player: if the game have a good atmosphere or story, you probably would want to experience it alone, without any distraction from any other player.
They have both their advantages, but I personally prefer playing offline.

I agree with Xilkozuf. Some games work best online, others are way better offline. The only bad thing about offline games is that usually, you can beat them and then you don't have many things left to do. I have several games where I got all achievements and so on.

In an online game, there's competition and you strive to beat others which is by itself never ending. I think you can spend more time playing the same, one, online game than you could with offline. I do play both though.

The one which is better largely depends on the availability and effectiveness of internet resources of the individual.
Online games are characterized by always-online attitude which ofcourse goes along with high internet charges. Also, it will depend on your readiness to pay internet charges monthly.
However, offline games don't require any significant charges, relatively. You can just sit in the comfort of your home and play at your own financial convenience.. :D

I like offline. My computer can be a bit slow at times and with my consoles there aren't as many issues I have to face.

I think this is highly dependent on how good your internet connection is. For instance, if you using a 3g/2g internet connection, please don't try!! You will definitely regret.
Again, I think if you using a strong 4g internet connection, you can try provided you can afford this kind of internet connection.

However, online gaming gives you the opportunity to play against opponents online, which makes it even more interesting.

I think the console would be best for playing games offline but of course even these consoles you might need to go online and get a patch once in awhile. These patches make the game more functional and accessible but most of the time you can be offline and play your games with these consoles-which is nice. I like the offline experience as well with PC gaming -but they require you to activate these games online after a few days also.

Yeah, I can see that getting pretty annoying and tedious at times.

I think that this issue is very personal. In games, you get what you don't get in real life. And video games are built around this. So depending on what you're lacking, you'll like different kinds of video games. Me for example: I like to be in control in video games. Everything has to be clear. Therefor something like Civ5 is absolutely my thing.

I think offline gaming is good. Because here you can play one on one games lot better. And most of the campaign based games are better that way. I have learned a lot through campaign based games.

I like both but I'm more fond of singleplayer story games. I love when a game has a good story and a good soundtrack. I also love online competitive games like MOBAs or shooters but besides League of Legends and CS:GO I don't really play that much at the moment.

In my area, I am having a little bit internet connectivity problem nowadays so I would prefer to play offline games. A lot of offline games are really fun to play but I think it would be more fun while playing games with friends while that are with you online.

Online games are more fun than offline games. If you having a problem with the internet connectivity problem then offline games are better obviously. I mostly play online games with my friends. So we can communicate and play with each other while we all are staying at our own home.

I think both are fine by me. I have no issues with either one of them. You can see that some of the time offline games can be fun. And some of the time online games are worth going for. So it depends on what you want though.

Yeah I miss those age of mythology type games. Now the online multiplayer games are there. And they make different types of the stories. So it's kind of hard to find good games lately. Hope in future we can find some.

It depends. If you do not have a stable internet connection then you would definitely opt for offline mode.

Offline and online game for me is different depending on your gaming mood. Offline can be more casual and online can be more competitive. Personally, I like both, If I want to relax and don't think to much pressure, I play the offline game. But if I want something that really test my abilities as a gamer, I play the online.
