I just got a new Xbox 360 for Christmas to replace my old one with a broken disc tray. I transferred all of my saved games from the old Xbox to a flash drive
And then to my new Xbox. The old borderlands 2 saved game is definitely on my new system but the game won't read it. I only have the option to start a new game
    Please help

Have you tried selecting your character? Need to know what you have and haven't done to help you.

I just looked into it from a brief Google search, and at least from what I can tell, you might not be able to just copy the files over like you have.

Now I'm not an Xbox user, so I might be wrong. But it looks like you can get a transfer kit from Microsoft free of charge, assuming you have Xbox Live.

Save Data can be transferred via flash drive, but games installed to HDD and licenses (for DLC) cannot.

wouldnt you have to change the ids within the save like console id with a program like horizon. Dont know for sure havent ran into this problem. Thought I would throw it out there.

I dont know if changing ids will fix your problem but if you want to try it this is how. Go on internet and download
a program called Horizon sorry I cant provide link at the moment but if you do a google search for xbox 360, Horizon it should be easily found. Install programin the mean time start a new game on your new xbox and let it save that way you will have a save file with the new ids for new xbox. Copy and save this save file to a usb. Plug usb into cpu. Open the horizon program on the right side there should be the usb device you saved the game to. Click on the save file and then click on extract save it to your favorite save location on you cpu. There should be a package manager tab at top on the program click on it and then a box will pop up click open find the save file you extracted from the usb. Once open there will be 3 box with random numbers in it one will be profile id another will be console id and I forget the 3rd ones name. These are specific to your xbox and profile. Open a notepad and copy all three number to a page for quick and easy access. Now the save files that are giving you trouble copy them to the usb and extract them and open them in the package manager as you did with the new save and simply copy and paste the 3 numbers in the approriate places. When done pasting all numbers save and rehash and resign. Dont forget to rehash and resign. When finished go back to device explorer in horizon and this inject the files you updated with the new ids and once finished plug in usb into xbox and see if they work. I typed this from memory so I hope its accurate. Always make a back up of you files just incase. I hope this helps. Always back up. Always back up
