They’ve Cast Tiny Tina In The Borderlands Movie

by on March 1, 2021

As casting news for the Borderlands Movie keeps spilling out, there was one inevitable role that had to be filled…so who is it? It had to happen eventually….who got cast as Tiny Tina?

The first casting news was announced back in May of 2020 when Cate Blanchett was given the role of Lilith. The character in the film will be about the same as her depiction in the games, and that will also be the case for Kevin Hart as Roland (both revealed in January). Last month, we learned Jamie Lee Curtis will be playing archaeologist Dr. Patricia Tannis, and a couple weeks later, we were informed Jack Black would be performing Claptrap in a voice-over role.

And now we come to Tina. Who could possibly fill those profane little shoes? It is….drumroll………ARIANA GREENBLATT!

Who?

Maybe this will refresh your memory…after performing The Snap, Thanos goes back in time to greet the younger Gamora. He tells her it’s done. She asks what it cost. He says with a pained expression, “Everything.” Greenblatt was Gamora in that scene. Going from that role to Tina is a complete 180, but we know nothing of her acting range (or anything else about her for that matter).

“Ariana is a spectacular new talent in cinema,” says Eli Roth, director of the Borderlands movie. “She has already worked with many of my close collaborators and everyone raves about her. She blew us all away in her audition, and I cannot wait to see her bring the wild, insane and unpredictable Tiny Tina to the big screen. She’s going to blow up on screen like one of Tina’s grenades.”

We’ll see if he’s right. The Borderlands movie currently has no release date.
